Due to high waters and recent closing of Riverside Park, the Heartland Rod Car Show this weekend will be moved to the parking lot of the Heartland Mall in Early, according to the Heartland Cruisers.
Sponsor chairman Wayne Creel said Tuesday morning that Saturday’s annual car show would also be without the “Burnout Contest” and the “Texas Mobile Dyno.”
Registration and start of the car show begins at 8 a.m. Saturday. Awards will be issued out around 3 p.m. Vendors and the panty dash will also be on hand.
Bruner Auto Group is sponsoring the “Best of Show” contest, in which the winner will claim $500.
Other awards include the following: Best General Motors (sponsored by Bruner); Best Ford (Big Country); Best Mopar (Stanley Dodge); Best Import (Bruner); Best Bike (House of Wheels).
The Heartland Cruisers encourage those who may attend to bring their street rods, muscle cars, sports cars, classic cars, low riders and motorcycles.
