EARLY — Here’s a recipe for lots of love, laughter, huge grins — and, of course, plenty of dancing: match up a group of young girls with high school girls who are members of their school’s dance squad.
That was the scene for three days last week in the Early Middle School gym, where the Early High School Belles put on the mini-boot camp for girls in grades K-5. The older girls and younger girls clearly adored each other as the faces of both groups lit up as they interacted and danced together.
Marie Algiere, the middle school’s librarian, and Kim Sandford, who teaches career and technical education at the high school, are co-director for the Belles.
As high school students, Algiere was a member of the Brownwood High School Lionettes and Sandford was a member of the Bangs High School drill team.
The mini-boot camp ended Thursday with the traditional performance to pre-recorded music, with parents and other guests in the audience.
