Wally’s Party Factory is in the midst of their busiest season of the year — Halloween.
Wally’s is a party store in Brownwood that sells party supplies, custom balloons, seasonal decorations, costumes, catering supplies and much more.
Margaret McGuire, Wally’s store manager said, “People come here for fun, they become someone else when they enter this store. We give the children balloons and it brings a sparkle to their eyes and a smile on their face.”
October is typically the busiest month for Wally’s due to Halloween. People come in to choose from a variety costumes and Halloween decorations. During October, Wally’s has elevated hours and is open Monday through Sunday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
McGuire expressed just as many adults come in to the store to purchase costumes as children. “This gives the adults an escapism to be incognito and have fun while not being someone else,” said McGuire.
Popular costume trends that McGuire has seen this year include Mario, Superman, Spider-Man, Alice in Wonderland and The Wizard of Oz. McGuire stated that the store is almost out of Mario costumes for the season.
Teachers get 10 percent off of purchases at Wally’s, so there are many teachers who frequently visit to get festive decorations for their classrooms.
Wally’s has an annual raffle going on during the month of October to give back to charity. Wally’s raffles off a television and tickets are $1 each or six for $5. The drawing is at 5 p.m. Halloween evening and you need not be present to win.
“All of the proceeds go to the Good Samaritan ministries to buy food for the food bank,” said McGuire.
McGuire expressed that 2015 was a good year in sales for the store. “Last year was a very strong year with the oil business, it wasn’t an election year, Halloween wasn’t on Monday, but we still predict a very excellent year this year,” said McGuire.
Wally’s offers a free greeting card if you spend $25, and if you spend over $50 you get three free greeting cards. Wally’s is located at 601 Fisk Ave in Brownwood.
“Like I said, October is one our busiest months and we love seeing all of the customers come in. Customer service is number one for us,” said McGuire.
