Three Brownwood High School students placed with their junior market barrows at the San Antonio Stock Show this past weekend.

Seniors Dylan Agan and Madison Mayo and junior Dawson Evans placed in the show, which featured over 1,900 total entries and about 60 entries in each class.

Agan placed 10th in a class of 59 in the junior market barrow, Hampshire division. Agan, a member of the Brownwood FFA, won first place in the market swine division at the Brown County Youth Fair weeks ago, as well as a senior showmanship award.

Agan’s mother Angela said in an email that Dylan always works hard with his animals and plans to continue his education in agriculture at West Texas A&M University this fall.

Evans, meanwhile, placed just ahead of Agan and captured ninth place in the market barrow, Hampshire division in San Antonio. Evans’s younger sister Jensyn, a sixth-grader at Brownwood Intermediate, showed a Berkshire Barrow at the competition.

Mayo took 11th place in the Hampshire division as well.

The Houston Livestock Show, which begins on March 7, is the next major stock show in the state.
