Brownwood police arrested a man and a woman and seized items including 11 grams of methamphetamine Wednesday in a joint investigation by the police department and sheriff’s office, Brownwood Police Chief Terry Nichols said.
    Isidro Mendez, 49, of Brownwood, was booked into the Brown County Jail on charges of manufacture or delivery of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of metal or body armor by a felon, possession of a controlled substance and evading arrest, jail records state.
    Amanda Grabast, 36, of Brownwood, was booked on two charges of possession of a controlled substance.
    Mendez remained jailed Thursday in lieu of bonds totaling $135,000, and Grabast remained jailed with bonds totaling $20,000.
    Police initially encountered Mendez as he sat in a parked car near Coggin Park, and Grabast approached on foot, Nichols said. Mendez fled on foot, and police caught him after a foot pursuit. Police obtained a search warrant for Mendez’s home on Brady Avenue, where officers seized methamphetamine and other items including morphine and body armor, Nichols said.
