A Brownwood woman who was arrested in October on a drug charge following a 30-mile pursuit was among 34 people indicted by the May session of the Brown County Grand Jury.
    The panel returned a two-count indictment against Lakisha Stembridge, 32, for possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver and evading arrest, according to information from District Attorney Micheal Murray’s office.
    A deputy was patrolling the area of Highway 279 and FM 1850 when he saw a car traveling at 95 mph, sheriff’s officials said earlier.
    The deputy attempted a traffic stop, and the driver continued on for 30 miles before stopping. The deputy seized 8 grams of methamphetamine and a small amount of marijuana.

    Grand jurors returned indictments for possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver and possession of a controlled substance against Stephanie Baker, 35.
    Brownwood police were following up on information in October 2016 that a known female methamphetamine distributor was distributing methamphetamine at a north Brownwood apartment complex, police said earlier.
    Officers saw a vehicle suspected of being used in drug dealing being driven out of the complex. After seeing a traffic violation, police stopped the car and arrested the passenger, identified as Baker.
    The grand jury returned an indictment for possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver in a drug free zone against Ricky Guerra, 28, in connection with a search and arrest warrant Brownwood police and deputies served in February.
    Officers seized “a large quantity” of methamphetamine, in addition to cocaine and Ecstasy, police said. Officers arrested two people including Guerra.
    The grand jury indicted Isidoro Mendez, 49, of Brownwood, for unlawful possession of metal or body armor by a felon in connection with a March investigation by Brownwood police and sheriff’s deputies.
    Officers seized items including 11 grams of methamphetamine, morphine and body armor and arrested two people including Mendez.

    James Dee Young Jr., aggravated assault with deadly weapon.

    Kimberly Rebecca Mendez, possession of a controlled substance.
    Kayla Marie Yarbrough, fraudulent use or possession of identifying information.
    Pablo Eligio Palacio, DWI.
    Joseph Shawn Anderson, possession of a controlled substance — drug free zone.
