An Early man’s trip to the McDonald’s drive-thru Sunday ended in a trip to jail on felony DWI and resisting arrest charges.

Brownwood police found Joaquin Pesina III, 50, asleep in the driver's seat of his vehicle and arrested him after conducting a field sobriety test, police said.

According to an email from Brownwood police:
    Police were dispatched to the drive-thru of the Brownwood restaurant on a report of a passed-out motorist.
    The vehicle was in drive and the engine was running. Police were able to put the vehicle in park and awaken Pesina after several tries.
    Police arrested Pesina and took him to Brownwood Regional Medical Center for a blood draw, where the suspect became defiant and combative, police said.
    In unrelated incidents:
    • Police took a telephone report Friday from a woman who said a man came to her residence and gave her a tattoo that became infected. The woman believes the man was not licensed to give tattoos. An investigation continues.
    •    Police were dispatched Thursday to Walmart on a report of a child inside a vehicle by himself with the engine running.
    Officers arrived to see a child in the front seat playing with various dash and door controls. Offices also saw two younger children,  between the ages of 1 and 3, in the back seat.
     Several minutes later, the children’s mother and grandmother arrived at the vehicle. Officers located a prescription pill bottle in the driver’s side door that did not contain the prescription pills that were noted on the bottle.
    Officers arrested Alisha Gamez, 26, of Brownwood, on charges of child endangerment and possession of a dangerous drug.
