A 44-year-old Brown County man is free on bonds totaling $78,000 after he was arrested Friday on multiple charges following a domestic disturbance.
    Bryan Makuta was booked into the Brown County Jail on charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, continuos violence against the family, DWI, unlawful carrying weapon, possession of a controlled substance, possession of a dangerous drug and possession of marijuana, jail records state.
      According to reports by deputies Marvin Simpson and Taylor Fletcher:
    Simpson responded to the 2800 block of Englewood in south Brownwood on an assault call. The suspect was gone when Simpson arrived. Witnesses said the suspect assaulted his live-in girlfriend and then hit a man who intervened. The suspect pulled a handgun from his pocket, racked a round and pointed the handgun at the other man’s face.
    The man fled and hid in the dark until the suspect left.
    Later, Fletcher made a traffic stop on the suspect’s vehicle for failing to stop for red lights at Austin and Coggin and Austin and Main. Taylor believed he detected signs of intoxication. Fletcher found a small amount of marijuana in the suspect’s vehicle and pills in one of his pockets.
    The suspect also had a Ruger .380 handgun and said he had a license to carry.

    • Theft — Fishhook Drive, where a dirt bike was taken.
    • Criminal mischief — County Road 146, were an unknown suspect cut a fenced property containing horses.

    • Identity theft — A deputy spoke by phone with a man who said a woman opened a Dish Network account in his name.
    • Credit card abuse — A deputy took a report at the Law Enforcement Center.
    • Assault — Ennis Drive. A deputy was dispatched regarding an unwanted person who refused to leave the residence. A woman said the suspect, who did leave before the deputy arrived, had cut off her air supply during an altercation.
    • Accidental firearm discharge — County Road 284. A deputy responded to Brownwood Regional Medical Center, where a man was being treated for injuries to a finger he sustained in an accidental shooting.
    • Found property — A deputy located a flat screen TV outside a storage unit and retrieved the TV for safekeeping.

    • Burglary — County Road 351. Witnesses saw the named suspect in the home. The suspect was gone when a deputy arrived.
Wednesday, Nov. 22
    • Theft of firearm — Windjammer Drive. Victim believes someone who did some work on her home is the suspect.
    • Reckless driver — U.S. 377 East. A driver nearly struck another vehicle and was swerving all over the road, traveling at high speed in a Dodge Ram pickup. Roberto Lomeli, 63, was arrested on a DWI with open container charge.
