EARLY — A domestic disturbance Sunday afternoon in Early led to the arrest of a 32-year-old woman on multiple charges and minor injuries to an Early police officer.
Quinci Jones was booked into the Brown County Jail on charges of assault on a public servant, assault and resisting arrest, jail records state. Jones is free on bonds totaling $20,000.
According to an email from Early police:
Officers responded to the apartment complex at 130 Sudderth on a report of yelling and screaming coming from an apartment. Officers heard yelling and screaming as well as a child crying from inside the apartment.
Officers made contact with the occupants, and one of the occupants, identified as Jones, refused to comply with officers’
Officer Michelle Sheedy went to restrain the occupant when she began to walk away, and the occupant swung at Sheedy. The officer restrained the occupant by handcuffing her during the struggle.
Officers learned the female occupant was the aggressor during the disturbance and had assaulted a male by hitting him. The occupant was being escorted to a patrol car when she began struggling again on the stairway.
The occupant attempted to cause both her and Sheedy to fall, but the officer was able to continue to restrain Jones. Sheedy was treated at Brownwood Regional Medical Center for her minor injuries.
