The Eighth Annual Spay-Ghetti Supper, which benefits the Corinne T. Smith Animal Center’s spay and neuter program, is just under two weeks away.
The supper will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 18 at the Adams Street Community Center. Tickets cost $10 and are available at the animal center, KOXE Radio, KXYL Radio and from board member Dave Olhausen, who can be contacted at 325-642-6883.
Spaghettis meals will be available as take-out or dine-in.
“We have two major fundraisers,” Olhausen said. “One is the Canines, Cats and Cabernet, and the other is the Spay-Ghetti. Without these two, we would have some difficulty in maintaining our funds to pay our expenses.
“This is a wonderful event because you don’t have to cook, but you’ve got to eat, and we have take-out and we have dine-in. We’re going to have Debra Mathis play the piano again this year for us, so it will be a nice evening.”
Animal center board members will cook the spaghetti, and area restaurants are donating sauces, salads, drinks and garlic bread. Restaurants are the Red Wagon, Stick’s Barbecue, CR Catering, Section Hand, Steves’ Deli, Prima Pasta, Underwood’s Cafeteria, Sodexo, The Hideout, Humphrey Pete’s, Brownwood Country Club, Little Caesar’s, United Supermarkets, Cotton Patch, Chicken Express in Early and Dr Pepper.
Sponsors for the event are Pet Sense, Live Oak Pharmacy, Rex’s Texas Lanes, Brownwood Glass and Alignment, Brownwood Decorating, Brown County Animal Clinic, Small Animal Clinic, Brownwood Janitorial, Royal Cavaliers and Cadenhead Veterinary Clinic.
