Law enforcement officials served a search and arrest warrant at a south Brownwood residence Thursday and arrested a man and woman after seizing narcotics, a gun and ammunition, Brownwood police said.
Fernando Perez, 32, was charged with possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine) in a drug free zone, possession of marijuana and unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon, a Brownwood Police Department press release states. Naomi Puentes, 26, was charged with possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine).
The press release referred for the first time to an entity described as the Brown County Narcotics Task Force, which served the warrant after an extended investigation into the distribution of methamphetamine.
Officers seized an undisclosed amount of methamphetamine and materials consistent with the distribution of illegal drugs, police said.
The investigation is ongoing and more arrests are likely, police said.
