Officers responded at 12:15 p.m. to the Sunset Terrace Apartments, 1500 Terrace, on a burglary report. The caller reported two suspects attempted to force their way into her apartment and were attempting to leave in a sedan.
As officers arrived in the area, they located the sedan and made a traffic stop. As the vehicle came to a stop, the front seat passenger, identified as Gomez, exited the vehicle and ran from view.
At the traffic stop location, officers identified 29-year-old Jeffrey Schafer of Odessa as the driver. After initial investigation, officers alleged Schafer possessed a usable amount of suspected methamphetamine and arrested Schafer.
While investigating this offense, officers were approached by the initial caller who informed them of the incident as well as Gomez’s location.
Officers went to an apartment and located Gomez, who was arrested.
