The Early Longhorns bounced back from a heartbreaking one-point home loss to Comanche Friday by knocking off the Eastland Mavericks, 48-39, in overtime Tuesday.
Early (13-9, 3-3) received 20 points from Timmy Smithson, six each from Brent Grooms and Ty Schafer, five apiece from Kiah Laborn and Ethan Mitchell, four from Nathan Mitchell and two points from Carlos Moreno.
Eastland fell to 6-10 overall and 4-2 in District 6-3A with the loss.
Lady Dragons 47, Dublin 27
The Bangs Lady Dragons returned to the District 6-3A win column with a 47-27 victory over Dublin Tuesday.
Despite allowing the game’s first seven points, Bangs (8-18, 3-5) claimed an 11-7 lead by the end of the first period and a 22-13 advantage at halftime.
Kyra Smith led Bangs with 16 points followed by Kayleah Hall with nine.
Dublin slipped to 2-14 overall and 1-7 in district with the loss.
Eastland 59, Lady Horns 22
The Early Lady Horns were unable to piece together their first district win streak as Eastland rolled to a 59-22 victory in 6-3A action Tuesday night.
Early (4-18, 2-6) received 11 points from Ellie Ryan, six from Taylor Summers, two each from Alexa Portillo and Emily Jillson and one point from Kacee Gober.
Eastland improved to 18-8 overall and 7-1 in district with the win.
