A parolee who was arrested following a pursuit in which deputies recovered 81 grams of methamphetamine was indicted earlier this month on an evading arrest charge.

The January session of the Brown County Grand Jury returned the indictment against Peter Acevedo, 39, documents in District Clerk Cheryl Jones’ office state. Acevedo was also indicted as a repeat offender and habitual offender.

Other cases are pending grand jury presentations. 

A deputy attempted a traffic stop on a pickup on Sept. 8, which led to the pursuit, sheriff’s officials said earlier. Deputies recovered a bag with 81 grams of methamphetamine that was thrown out during the pursuit. 

The pursuit ended when the driver, identified as Acevedo, jumped out the pickup as it traveled across an apartment complex parking lot. The pickup crashed into a parked vehicle and Acevedo was taken into custody after a foot pursuit, sheriff’s officials said.

Acevedo was arrested on evading, drug and other charges.
