For the cost of a $60 ticket, you can experience a night of Las Vegas-style fun in Brownwood — and you’ll be helping the Corinne T. Smith Animal Center and the dogs and cats it cares for.

The 13th Annual Canines, Cats and Cabernet, one of the animal center’s two major fundraisers each year, will be Friday, March 22 at the Depot Civic and Cultural Center.

The event bills itself as “a night of fabulous food, great drinks and Las Vegas-style fun,” with food furnished by local restaurants, caterers and bakeries. Wines, beers and spirits will be available.

The event features a full casino and live and silent auctions.

All proceeds will go directly to support the Corinne T. Smith Animal Center. Doors open at 5:30 p.m., and the event ends at 11 p.m.

According to the website visitbrownwood.com:

With champagne to start, you will listen to the musical talents of Debra Mathis and Daniel. At 6 p.m., food vendors will begin serving.

This year the silent auction is the longest in the event’s history. The live auction begins at 7:30 p.m.

Just as the live auction ends, the casino will open.

Tickets are available at the animal center on Milam Drive, Wendlee Broadcasting, Brown County Broadcasting and Smith and Sharpe insurance.
