“A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance” Ecclesiastes 3:4
Patrick Glen Lasserre, 50, went peacefully to be with his Lord and Savior at Songbird Lodge Nursing and Rehabilitation Center on Friday, June 28, 2019, in Brownwood, Texas. He was a loving son, brother, husband, father, uncle, and friend. Pat, an ordained minister, held strong to his faith throughout his adult life; he lived and passed away on his own terms.
A Celebration of Life for Pat will be held on Thursday, August 1, 2019, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at First United Methodist Church, Christian Life Center, (2500 11th Street, Brownwood, Texas). Arrangements are under the direction of Blaylock Funeral Home of Brownwood.
Patrick was born August 1, 1968, to Jean Pierre Lasserre and Linda Glee (Adams) Emison. He was born and raised in Denver, Colorado. He graduated from Moore High School in Moore, Oklahoma on May 29, 1986. After high school, Pat moved to Minneapolis, Minnesota for a few years; he accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior during this time and his life was transformed. He eventually moved back to Denver, Colorado.
Patrick married Audrey Faye (Garrett) Lasserre, on August 1, 1997, in Virginia Beach, Virginia; from this point on he had claimed years of experience instead of birthdays. God knew what he was doing when he put these two together; they were compatible in every way. Pat and Faye welcomed three children during their twenty-one-year marriage.
Patrick fulfilled a personal achievement when he attended Howard Payne University in Brownwood, Texas. During his time at HPU, he started substitute teaching for Brownwood ISD in the fall of 2013; he had the students call him Mr. Lazer, because “Lasserre” was difficult for the students to pronounce. He graduated December 8, 2012, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Practical Theology and December 12, 2015, with a Master of Arts degree in Theology and Ministry. Pat was licensed and ordained by Primera Iglesia Bautista Mexicana of Brownwood on March 26, 2017. He attended First United Methodist Church of Brownwood at the time of his passing.
Patrick was preceded in death by grandparents, Julian Lasserre, Darlene Hallquist, Elliott and Roberta Adams all of Denver, Colorado; two uncles, Alan Lasserre of Ramsey, Minnesota and Terry Lasserre of Denver, Colorado; and an aunt, Roberta Johnson of Denver, Colorado.
Left to treasure Pat’s memory are his wife, Audrey Faye; sons, Alexander Patrick and Joshua Jean; daughter, Rebekah Gleanne all of Brownwood, Texas; son-like nephew, Second Class Petty Officer Paul Richard Garrett of Yokosuka, Japan; beloved mother, Linda Emison of Brownwood, Texas; father, Jean Lasserre and wife Mary of Coleman, Texas; brother, William Lasserre and wife Debra of Coleman, Texas; three sisters, Ruby Rice of Amarillo, Texas, Sherry Vetere and husband Lance of La Junta, Colorado, Jennie Montanez and husband Archie of Ordway, Colorado; sister-in-law, Mary Garrett-St. Cyr and husband Jacob of Virginia Beach, Virginia; four nephews, Michael Vetere, Kevin Vetere and John Paul Vetere all of La Junta, Colorado, Jeffery Reeves of Ordway, Colorado; three nieces, Kelly Reeves Webb of Ordway, Colorado, Vanessa Marie Myers and Laura Faye Garrett of Virginia Beach, Virginia; and numerous uncles, aunts, cousins and extended family and friends.
