A cement truck attempting to make a left turn across U.S. Highway 377 about 100 yards beyond the Comanche County line collided with a sport utility vehicle and rolled onto its side early Wednesday afternoon.
The woman who was driving the Cadillac SUV, which sustained heavy front-end damage, was taken by private vehicle to Comanche County Medical Center, Department of Public Safety troopers said at the scene.
Troopers had no information on the woman’s condition since she had been taken to the hospital by the time troopers arrived at the crash site.
Trooper John Hoy of Brownwood said the cement truck, occupied by two Ingram Concrete employees, was traveling west in the outside lane when the driver attempted to make a left turn across the highway, Hoy said. The driver made a wide turn from the outside lane, causing the truck to collide with the westbound SUV in the inside lane, Hoy said.
The truck’s two occupants were not injured.
A wrecker from Comanche loaded up the SUV, and a large Welch Brothers wrecker was brought to the site to begin uprighting the truck.
