October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and Brownwood Independent School District (BISD) is supporting this cause once again this year by designating Friday, Oct. 11, as “Pink-Out” day. Due to the school holiday on Friday, faculty, staff, and students within the district will be wearing their pink-out shirts throughout the day Thursday, October 10, and again at the game Friday to increase awareness and raise money for local families currently fighting cancer.
BISD is encouraging employees, students, parents, and community members to consider purchasing this year’s heather gray “Fight Strong” pink-out t-shirt designed specifically for the event and wear it to school or work Thursday and to the Brownwood vs. Gatesville football game beginning at 7 p.m. Friday.
The pink-out T-shirt is available by pre-order only. Order forms can printed online at www.brownwoodisd.org/pinkout and can also be found at the BISD Central Support Center at 2707 Southside Drive, or at any BISD campus.
The cost per t-shirt is $10 for all sizes youth through adult 5 XL. Orders and payments must be turned in by Friday, Sept. 20 at 4 p.m. Each $10 donation gets you the latest Pink-Out shirt, but more importantly, it adds to a cancer fund to help local families battling cancer.
This is the 8th year for the pink-out the fundraiser, which has raised thousands of dollars over the years due to the incredible support by students, staff, teachers, and the community. BISD hopes to continue the success of the fundraising effort which has helped several individuals within the district battling cancer.
