Since 1946, Underwood’s has been known for serving up southern meals with savory BBQ and a substantial amount of sides. This old-school cafeteria is full of smoked meats, sausage, sides, and cobbler, making it an obvious choice for The Texas Bucket List Bite of the Week. If that is not enough to draw in a crowd, at Underwood’s, you purchase your meat and everything else comes along with it—including dessert and fresh, hot rolls! Tune in the weekend of September 14-15, 2019 as host, Shane McAuliffe, gets a taste of a family tradition with proven delicious product.

Brothers, Paul and Leo Underwood, are part of the third generation to run their family establishment. One wanted to become a stockbroker, and the other a broadcaster, but soon realized that the BBQ business was in their blood. After attending college at Baylor University, they returned to Brownwood to continue the legacy of their family restaurant, Underwood’s.

Underwood’s is featured alongside two other stops— the Wilson Art House in Temple, TX and Bonnie Palacio from Benavides.
