A Brownwood man was sentenced recently to 40 years in prison for intoxication assault and DWI in connection with a July 13 head-on collision on C.C. Woodson near the Brownwood Coliseum.

35th District Judge Steve Ellis sentenced Jerry Griffis, 57, after Griffis pleaded no contest to the charges, according to information from District Attorney Micheal Murray’s office.

The August session of the Brown County Grand Jury returned indictments against Griffis alleging he caused serious bodily injury to an occupant of another vehicle.

Griffis was indicted as a repeat and habitual offender.

Griffis was driving a Honda Accord westbound on C.C. Woodson hen it entered oncoming traffic lanes and collided with a Cadillac Escalade near the Brownwood Coliseum, police said earlier. Griffis was flown by helicopter to Hendrick Medical Center in Abilene.

Brice Antonio Lashawn Davis, on probation for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, was adjudicated and sentenced to 16 years in prison.

Vincent Anthony Asciutto pleaded guilty to DWI and was sentenced to 15 years in prison.

Matthew Gipson pleaded guilty to aggravated assault and was sentenced to 10 years in prison.

Kimberlee Adams, on probation for delivery of a controlled substance — drug free zone, was revoked and sentenced to seven years in prison.

Daniel Ray Doyle Jr., on probation for engaging in organized criminal activity and evidence tampering, was adjudicated and sentenced to five years in prison.

Jeffery Shane Hamill Jr., on probation for engaging in organized criminal activity and evidence tampering, was adjudicated and sentenced to five years in prison. Hamill, on probation for burglary of a building, was adjudicated and sentenced to 15 months in state jail.

Abel Ray Perez, on probation for assault family violence — enhanced, was revoked and sentenced to three yeas in prison.

James Adam Jimenez, on probation for possession of a controlled substance — drug free zone, was adjudicated and sentenced to three years in prison.

Miranda Davidson, on probation for possession of a controlled substance, was adjudicated and sentenced to two years in prison.

Christopher Allen pleaded guilty to possession of a controlled substance and was sentenced to 18 months in state jail.

Julio Velez Torro pleaded guilty to delivery of a controlled substance and was sentenced to 12 months in state jail.

Ryan Wesley Parks pleaded guilty to unauthorized use of a vehicle and burglary of a building and was sentenced to 12 months in state jail.

John David Goodman, on probation for burglary of a building, was revoked and sentenced to 12 months in state jail.

Kassie Sharon, AKA Kassie Watts, on probation for unauthorized use of a vehicle, was revoked and sentenced to 12 months in state jail.

Brian Keith Lancaster, on probation for possessions of a controlled substance, was adjudicated and sentenced to eight months in state jail.
