On Tuesday, Jan. 14, from 11:45 a.m to 1 p.m., faith leaders and community partners from Brownwood will gather at the First Baptist Church of Brownwood (208 Austin Avenue) for an event giving thanks for local public schools.

This event will be hosted by Pastors for Texas Children (PTC), a statewide network of 2500+ pastors and faith leaders that serves neighborhood public schools through prayer, service, and advocacy. Lunch will be provided, and PTC founder and executive director, the Rev. Charles Foster Johnson, will give an address.

“Public schools are a blessing and a gift from God, and they are a guarantee of the Texas State Constitution,” Johnson said. “We are so grateful for the work of educators who serve our state’s beloved children. This event will bring together pastors and community partners who believe, like we do, that fair funding for public education is a key provision of God’s common good.”

This will be the first in a series of Celebrations of Public Education hosted by PTC across the state throughout 2020. For more information, visit bit.ly/brownwoodcelebration.
