The Brownwood Regional Medical Center Volunteers are pleased to announced the selection of their November and December 2019 BRMC Volunteers of the Month.
Named as the November 2019 BRMC Volunteer of the Month is BRMC Volunteer Peggy McCrane.
Peggy McCrane joined the BRMC Volunteer Organization in September 2001. She currently volunteers at the BRMC Volunteers Information Desk located at BRMC’s Front (North) Entrance. In 2006 – 2008 Peggy served as the BRMC Volunteers Organizations Secretary. She is a familiar face at BRMC where she provides those visiting BRMC with information on Patient Room Numbers and general information covering the facilities located within the medical center. Her friendly manner provides those seeking information with a positive source for their information questions. Peggy is always willing to accept extra responsibilities should the need arise. She encourages others in the Brownwood Area to consider becoming a BRMC Volunteer. Peggy has accumulated over 1,735 Hours of Volunteer Service at Brownwood Regional Medical Center.
Named the December 2019 BRMC Volunteer of the Month is BRMC Volunteer Joy Ivy.
Joy Ivy joined the BRMC Volunteer Organization in October of 2004. She currently serves as Chairperson of BRMC’s Front Entrance Volunteers Information Desk Service Area. Joy also serves as a volunteer in BRMC’s Intensive Care Waiting Area. She is a twice past President of the BRMC Volunteers having served in this officer’s position in 2007 - 2008 and again in 2016 - 2017. Joy has also served as Chairperson of the Book Cart Volunteer Service Area in 2006 - 2007 and the Information Desk Volunteer Service Area in 2008 - 2012. She is an avid quilter, which has led her to be involved in the BRMC Volunteer Program of providing Christmas Stockings to newborn Infants born at BRMC and to Inpatients during the Christmas Holiday Season. Joy is a special person, who always greets everyone with a smile no matter the situation or occasion. She has accumulated over 9,495 hours of volunteer service at BRMC.
The Brownwood Regional Medical Center Volunteers thank Peggy McCrane and Joy Ivy for choosing to be BRMC Volunteers and for their many contributions to the success of Brownwood Regional Medical Center and its Volunteer Organization.
The BRMC Volunteers are always excited to meet individuals who are interested in becoming a volunteer and the organization is actively soliciting new members. For those who have an interest in serving others a minimum of 6 hours per month, being a BRMC Volunteer will fore fill their needs. Volunteering at BRMC is a way of giving back and improving your community.
