Grady Eugene Boyd, 92, of Lake Brownwood, passed from this life on Thursday, March 12, 2020 at 7:15 a.m. at his residence.
Services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 14 at Coleman City Cemetery Pavilion with Roy Knowles officiating. Interment followed with Henderson Funeral Home of Coleman in charge of arrangements.
Grady was born Feb. 27, 1928 in Silver Valley to William and Ommie C. Williams Boyd. He was raised in Coleman County attending and graduating from Coleman Schools. Grady served his country in the United States Army during World War II. He was a longtime active member of the Concho Baptist Church the Lake Brownwood Volunteer Fire Department and Lions Club.
Grady was co-owner and operator of Lakeshore Welding, owner of Smokehouse BBQ, owner and operator of Boyd Truck and Backhoe Service at Lake Brownwood for many years. He was a very hardworking man, lovingly caring for his family and would help anyone in need.
Survivors include children, Brenda Gray, Bobbie Boyd and Tenny Glaze, Wayne Knowles and Roy Knowles; 12 grandchildren, Monte Eugene Hancock, Roland James Foster, Bryce Glaze, Misty Glaze, Mark Gray, Chad Gray, Troy, Cody, Jarrett, Andy, Brendan and Sydnie Knowles; and 19 great-grandchildren;
Grady was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Nellie Knowles Boyd; and second wife Louella Slimp Boyd.
