EARLY — A new 64-lot RV park, with amenities including a food court and a stage for live music and special events on weekends, is planned in Early.

The park, which will be built by Matt and Scott Elder of Brothers RV Park LLC, will be located at 1062 Early Blvd., Early City Administrator Tony Aaron said.

The Early City Council recently approved a zoning change to allow the RV park, which will be near Pate’s Hardware store, Aaron said.

Matt Elder said via email, "we are in the process of building a new RV Park at 1062 Early Blvd. that will be beneficial to the communities of Early and Brownwood. We are expecting to have 64 RV full service sites featuring a combination of back-in and pull-through locations.

"We are planning amenities within the park that include a laundry facility with vending machines and game room, sport court for basketball and pickle ball, cornhole, splash pad and a dedicated area to walk dogs."

In front of the RV park on Early Boulevard, plans are for a food truck area with room for multiple vendors and a shaded seating area for patrons, Elder said.

The food truck area will also feature a stage for live music on weekends or special events, he said.

"We look forward to working with the city on this new venue," Elder said.

Aaron said the city had been contacted by a group that was coming into the county and was interested in building an RV park. They had this property under contract and they presented us the preliminary plans.

"They’re going to build an 8-foot fence all the way around to have an enclosed RV park. They wanted to give it a community feels so they’re adding amenities like recreational facilities. From what we can tell they really are committed to building a first class park here, and not just another spot for people to park an RV."

Aaron said the city has an RV park ordinance that "controls how the park can be operated. They have not shown any problems with being able to work within those guidelines and try to prove a quality space for the community."
