Sheriff’s deputies seized eight marijuana plants Thursday evening ranging in height from 3 to 8 feet tall and found growing in northern Brown County.

No arrests have been made, but multiple arrests — possibly of up to eight people — are expected, sheriff’s Sgt. Tony Aaron said.

Deputies seized the marijuana from several properties on Pleasant Valley Road off FM 2273, a few miles south of May, Aaron said.

An investigation began after reserve deputy Mike Barr received a tip about the plants, Aaron said.

The weight of the marijuana is estimated at three to five pounds. Aaron said deputies also found marijuana bagged up for use.

“We’re still continuing to find out who all is involved and confirm the weight of the marijuana in order to properly charge them with the correct offense,” Aaron said.
