Special to the Bulletin

Dr. Rance Boren, local neurologist, will be a featured speaker at a Parkinsonís Disease Seminar on Saturday.

The seminar is scheduled to run from 10 a.m., beginning with registration, to 1 p.m. at the Adams Street Community Center, 511 E. Adams St.

Dr. Boren will give an overview of Parkinsonís Disease, and also discuss treatment options. He will cover the latest medications and treatments, as well as some soon to be available.

Jo Bidwell, West Texas Coordinator for the American Parkinsonís Disease Association, will also be speaking. Bidwellís topic will address the important role nutrition plays in the management of Parkinsonís. Because of the nature of the disease, proper digestion can be difficult, Bidwell said, and this is one of the issues she will address.

There is no cost for the seminar or for the brunch that will be served mid-morning. All persons who have Parkinsonís and their families and friends are encouraged to attend.

This seminar is sponsored by the Brownwood Parkinsonís Disease Support Group and is made possible by a grant from the J.R. Beadel Foundation.

Both the seminar and the support group exist for the benefit of all those in the Brownwood area affected by Parkinsonís. For more information, call Nancy Smythe at 646-6757.
