Brown County Sheriff’s Capt. Ellis Johnson will go before the Commissioners Court this morning seeking approval on a contract for sheriff’s office vehicles. Sheriff’s Sgt. Tony Aaron will seek approval for the purchase of computer equipment using funds seized by the department in arrests.

Court convenes at 9 a.m. in the commissioners courtroom on the main floor of the Brown County Courthouse. A 10-item agenda has been posted for the meeting and a second three-item supplemental agenda has also been posted. The supplemental meeting will be called to order at 10 a.m., in the same courtroom.

According to the agenda for the 9 a.m. meeting, Suzy Young, Brown County Elections Administrator, will seek approval for a new employee for that department, and Brown County Judge Ray West will ask for approval of a new employee in the county judge’s office. Precinct 4 Commissioner Larry Traweek will request a utility easement for a water line across County Road 147 and Precinct 1 Commissioner Steve Adams will make application to install a private line on County Road 201.

Republican Party Chairman Brad Locker will seek approval of a new election judge for Voting Precinct 215.

Other items on the agenda include approval of laptop computer for emergency management use, requested by Brent Bush; appointment approvals for the Child Welfare Board, presented by Charlie Gravell; and discussion of leave of absence policy, as presented by District Attorney Micheal Murray.

Items on the supplemental agenda include the signing of a breast cancer awareness resolution, presented to the court by Bill Owen; paving work at the 4-H Center, presented by Adams; and the 2009 indigent defense grant resolution.
