Brownwood police arrested a man early Friday morning on a reckless driving charge after an officer saw a car speeding and driving fast around a corner.
Sean Johnson, 27, was booked into the Brown County Jail after officer Stephanie Morgan stopped his vehicle around 1:15 a.m., police and jail records state.
Morgan was on patrol near North Main and West Commerce when she clocked a 1987 Chevrolet Caprice driving 44 mph in a 30-mph zone, Morganís report states.
The car made a right turn while traveling at 30 mph, squealing its tires, and Morgan stopped the vehicle.
Another motorist told Morgan the car had been doing doughnuts in the Wal-Mart parking lot and nearly hit his vehicle, and had run several stop signs, Morganís report states.
