Bulletin Staff Report
Brown County voters - as well as their counterparts across Texas - who had planned to vote early in the Nov. 4 general election canít put it off any longer.
Early voting ends today.
The only Brown County site for early voting is at the Coliseum Annex, 110 S. Greenleaf, in Brownwood, and extended hours will be observed to accommodate what could be a record turnout. The polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. today.
Voters who have not cast a ballot by the deadline today will need to wait until Tuesday, the actual election day, to cast their ballots. Polls will be open at various locations throughout the county from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. However, on that day, voters will need to report to the voting box found within their voting precinct. A list of those sites will be published by the Bulletin next week.
Only two Brown County officials are involved in contested races this year, and both are incumbents. They are Sheriff Bobby Grubbs, who is opposed by Kim Gilliam, and Precinct 3 Commissioner Richard Gist, who is opposed by Billy Wayne Cumba.
