Members of the Bangs Business Association are planning several activities over the coming months, including the Christmas parade and the third annual banquet.

At its Nov. 6, meeting the organization decided to forego selecting yards of the month during the winter, except during December when holiday decorations will the basis for the award.

The November business of the month is Bangs Physical Therapy, owned by Lisa Quintanilla and Sara Young.

Larry Traweek and Tim Johnson will be in charge of planning the Christmas parade this year, and the groupís appreciation was expressed to Verba Hamrick for her leadership on the parade over the past several years. The parade is scheduled for Dec. 15, in the late afternoon, but additional information will be announced as planning progresses.

The association agreed that membership dues would cover the cost of the annual banquet, which has been held in January in previous years, and guests would be invited to attend at no charge to them. Bruce Morris volunteered to chair the banquet committee, and Betty Ellis, Oneita Early, Saundra Tongate and Kay Wadsworth volunteered to assist.

Bob Tucker introduced the speaker for the evening, Emily Crawford, director of tourism for the Brownwood Area Chamber of Commerce. She presented a program on what is being done to attract visitors to this area.

Members accepted the proposed 2008 budget, and voted to hold covered dish meals quarterly with the meetings.
