A project being undertaken by the Brownwood High School Key Club will need considerable input from members of the community to be successful.
Pam Ryder, the club’s sponsor, said members have agreed to compile information about Brownwood High School ex-students who made the ultimate sacrifice for their nation during periods of war.
“We have a list of the names from the veterans service office, but we need help finding out which ones attended Brownwood High School,” Ryder said. The club also hopes to find photographs of these veterans so a display can be made in their memory at the school campus.
Ryder said the project is being conducted with the assistance of Dr. Reece Blincoe, superintendent. In recent years, school board members have recognized Brownwood High alumni who have been killed while serving in Iraq, and trustees said a memorial at the school would be appropriate for all former Brownwood High students who were killed during war while serving in the armed forces.
Ryder said anyone with information and photographs may contact a Key Club member or her at the high school, 646-9549, or e-mail pamela.ryder@brownwoodisd.
