Both the Brownwood Area and Early chambers of commerce are planning trips to Austin to meet with the area’s legislative delegation as well see the Texas Capitol.

On Feb. 6, buses will depart from the Depot at 8 a.m. with members of the Brownwood group. After lunch, the buses will arrive at the capitol building at 12:30 where members will be briefed by representatives from both the House and Senate. Following those meetings the group will tour an Austin art museum before hosting a reception for legislators and other officials at the Doubletree Guest Suites. The group will return to Brownwood by bus at 10 p.m.

The cost of the trip will be $60, if registered before Jan. 29, and $75 after that date.

The group from Early will leave at 7:30 a.m. Tuesday from the chamber offices at 104 E. Industrial Blvd. in a chartered van. An 11 a.m. tour of the capitol building is scheduled and at noon, the group will meet with state Rep. Jim Keffer and Sen. Troy Fraser or senior members of their office staff, pending on schedules. The van is expected to return to Early by 5 p.m.
