Lanny York, who police said took off his clothes and jumped into a motel swimming pool filled with children on Aug. 9, did not mean any harm and his action was the result of a chemical imbalance, his sister said.
Donna Abernathy of San Antonio said her brother was in a confused state and believed he was healing himself when he jumped into the pool’s water. She said he had been off his medication due to its side effects.
Abernathy said her 43-year-old brother is a hard-working, church-going man who would never harm anyone. She said because of his confused state, he did not even realize children were in the pool.
York was arrested on a charge of public lewdness after the incident and freed on $5,000 bond.
