A memorial service for Earl George Stinson, 83, of Lake Brownwood, will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 12, 2016 at The Fisherman’s Chapel at Lake Brownwood, with Pastor Terry Test officiating. Heartland Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

He died Monday, Feb. 22, 2016 in Coleman. He was buried next to his wife Jane on Wednesday, Feb. 24, 2016 in the Littlefield Cemetery in Littlefield.

He was born Aug. 2, 1926 in Carter, Okla. to Reuben M. And Ida Osborn Stinson. He served in the United States Army during World War II. He married to Jane Wheeler. He taught Journalism in Tyler, El Paso and Phoenix before retiring. He was one of the founding members of The Fisherman’s Chapel Church.

Survivors include his son, David Stinson of Phoenix, Ariz.; his brother, Spud Stinson of Coleman; and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife; daughter, Eunice Stinson; and by two infant daughters, Laura and Nancy Stinson.
