Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 16, 2016 at Henderson Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Loyd Hopper officiating.  Interment will follow at the Coleman City Cemetery with services under the direction of Henderson Funeral Home of Coleman. The family will receive friends from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Henderson Funeral Home.

Roy was born Aug. 26, 1939 in Seagraves to Arthur May and Helen Butler Vaughan. He was raised in Coleman County where he attended the Coleman Schools. He served his country in the United States Army with the Duck Boats from 1955-1958. Roy was a past member of the Coleman Exchange Club, Lions Club and Coleman Volunteer Fire Department. He owned and operated Coleman Pest Control before moving to Phoenix, Ariz. for 26 years. On June 27, 2009, Roy married Marie P. Barnett in Yuma, Ariz. and they have celebrated six years of marriage. Following his retirement in Arizona he moved back to Talpa.

Survivors include his wife, Marie Vaughan of Talpa; three daughters, Rhonda Brennan of Brownwood, Rachelle Knudsen of Phoenix, Ariz. and Kathy Gonzales of Taos, N.M.; three sons, Roy G. Vaughan Jr. of Yuma, Ariz., Douglas Vaughan of New York City and Michael Vaughan of Phoenix, Ariz.; two step daughters, Jeanne Demercado of New Port, Ore. and Leandra Demercado of Jacksonville, Fla.; brother, Lee Vaughn of Lake Brownwood; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Patricia Vaughan.
