COLEMAN — Services for Carol Douglas Burkey, 81, of Coleman, will be at 2 p.m. Friday, March 18, 2016 at Allcorn Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow at the Coleman City Cemetery, under the direction of Allcorn Funeral Care.

He died Wednesday, March 16, 2016, at Holiday Hill Nursing Home.

He was born June 21, 1934 in Yukon, Okla. to Gus and Lorean Casey Burkey. He married Lavada Gray in Coleman on May 7, 1955. He served in the United States Army. He worked at the Martin Brick Company in several different positions including lineman, foreman, and manufacturing. He was a member of the Elm Church of Christ.

Survivors include his wife, Lavada, of Coleman; two sons, Craig Burkey and wife Deidra and Cork Burkey of Coleman; one sister, Loretta Wildman of Kerville; three brothers, Ronald Burkey and wife Andrea of Kerrville, Ammol Burkey of Lovington, NM, Johnny Burkey and wife Martha of Coleman; one grandson; and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Donald Burkey; six sisters, Doris Tyson, Joan Holmes, Betty Galindo, Kay Olsen, Leta Gay Burkey, and Priscilla Burkey; and one granddaughter.
