Juan (Johnny) Cadena Jr., 73, of Brownwood, passed away at his home May 24, 2016. Visitation for Mr. Cadena will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, May 30, 2016 at Davis-Morris Funeral Home with Rosary at 7 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. at St. Mary’s Queen of Peace Catholic Church Tuesday, May 31, 2016, with interment to follow at Greenleaf Cemetery.
Juan (Johnny) Cadena, Jr. was born Aug. 14, 1942 to Juan Cadena and Irene Gil Cadena in Brownwood. He is a lifelong resident of Brownwood. Johnny married Ventura Gonzales in Brownwood, June 30, 1960. Johnny worked for Kohler Co. of Brownwood until his retirement. He and Ventura raised two children, Saul and Vivian. Johnny enjoyed people and never met a stranger. He was very devoted and endeared to his family. He was known for his love of ice cream, sweets and pastries.
Johnny is survived by his children, Saul Cadena and Vivian Finkey; grandchildren, Ryan Finkey, Joshua Finkey, Randi Finkey, Zenita Robles and Zachary Cadena; and his great-grandchildren, Lilith Villarreal, Ian Villarreal, Silver Finkey, Lalia Finkey, Mia Robles, Payton Robles and Zaiden Cadena. Also left to cherish his memory are his brothers, Jesse Cadena, Ralph Cadena, Joe Cadena and Alfred Cadena; and his sisters, Dora Arrellano, Margaret Rubelcaba, Delia Gil, Linda Pizarro, Virginia Dela Rosa and Helen Johnson.
Johnny is preceded in death by his wife, Ventura; and sister, Mary Villapando.
