A visitation for Bob Ellis, 71, of Bangs, will be held on Sunday afternoon from 2 until 4 p.m. at Heartland Funeral Home.
Bob passed from this life on Thursday, July 7, 2016 in Brownwood.
Robert Lynn “Bob” Ellis was born Aug. 26, 1944, in Tucumcari, N.M. to Elmo and Jimmie Holt Ellis. The family moved to South Houston where Bob attended school and graduated from South Houston High School in 1962. He graduated from San Jacinto Junior College in 1965 and Angelo State University in 1967.
He married Elizabeth Loeffler Oct. 7, 1967, in Mason.
Bob retired from Texas Parks and Wildlife as a Park Superintendent and Peace Officer in 1995.
Bob was a member of Bangs First United Methodist Church and the Masonic Lodge of Goliad. He enjoyed all levels of baseball, hunting, fishing, and playing 42.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Ida Stephenson.
Survivors include his wife of Bangs; son, Jon Ellis and wife Christy; daughter, Kristi Owen and husband Scott; grandsons, Seth and Kory Owen and Garrett and Zachary Ellis, all of Brownwood; brother, James Ellis and wife Dianne of Santo; brother-in-law, Don Stephenson of Carrollton; mother-in-law, Sarah Loeffler of Mason; and one niece and two nephews.
The family requests memorials made to Bangs FUMC, Howard Payne University Baseball program or FUMC Brownwood.
