Technical Sergeant (RET) Patrick David Henry, 80, a longtime resident of Wichita Falls, passed away Saturday, July 16, 2016 at Brownwood Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, July 20, 2016 at the St. John Baptist Church. A viewing will be held from noon to 1 p.m. at the church.

Patrick Henry was born Sept. 12, 1935 in Tallahassee, Fla., to the late Patrick Henry and Anna B. Timmons Henry, and Married Jewel J. Young Jan. 7, 1966 in Wichita Falls.

Mr. Henry grew up in New Britain Connecticut and attended New Britain Senior High School.  Upon graduating, he entered the U.S. Air Force. During his 23 years of faithful service, he was assigned to Kadena AFB (Okinawa), Stony Brook AFB (Massachusetts), McGuire AFB (N.J.), Lajes Field (Azores), Johnson AFB (Japan), Sheppard AFB (Texas), Vietnam, Kunsan AFB (Korea), Taipei AFB (Taiwan) and back again to Sheppard AFB where he retired in 1976. Patrick was an avid fan of sports and was an All-Star Fast-pitch pitcher in Japan and Taiwan.

In 1976 he transitioned from the Air Force and was employed by Best Products as a Department Manager in Wichita Falls. After several years, Mr. Henry began working for the Work Services Corporation as a Contract Manager for the Sheppard Air Force Base DECA Commissary; he retired after 25 years of service. Sergeant Henry was also a member of the Retired Enlisted Association.

Mr. Henry was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Jewel; grandmother, Patsy Wanza, who raised him from six years of age; and favorite aunts and cousins.

Survivors include his daughters, Kimberly Jenkins (Willie) of El Paso, Patricia Henry (Ravia Mcarthur) of Brownwood and Briana Henry of Denton; brother, Lloyd Henry and wife Janice of Middletown, Conn.; and granddaughters, Jewelia Clark and Jaylayisha Henry. He is also survived by special family members and many friends.
