MIDLAND — Nathan Ray Meeks, 68, of Midland, passed away on July 26, 2016. Nathan was born on Dec. 8, 1947 in Coleman to Rosalie and Nathan Meeks. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, July 28, 2016 at Nalley-Pickle and Welch Funeral Home in Midland.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, July 29, 2016 at Nalley-Pickle and Welch Chapel in Midland. Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, July 30, 2016 at Fairview Cemetery in Savoy.

Nathan had a dry sense of humor, loved to play golf, played a mean game of pool, enjoyed woodworking and watching baseball and football.

He was happily married to C.J. Meeks for 39 years. Their children are Amber Boswell and Eric Williams. He served in the Navy in Vietnam. His accomplishments included attending Howard Payne University and earning a Bachelor of Science degree with a Major in English Literature and a Minor in Business at Southeastern Oklahoma State University.

He is survived by his mother, Rosalie Meeks of Brownwood; sister, Carolyn Berry of Midland; wife, C.J. Meeks of Midland; daughter, Amber and son-in-law John Boswell of Early; son, Eric Williams and daughter-in-law Tammy of Midland; grandchildren, Jonathan, Hayden, Hope, Lacy and Matty; and niece, Shelby and husband Cleve Thomas and their children, Mazie and Jace.

He was preceded in death by his father, Nathan Holt Meeks; nephew, Tyler Berry; and brother-in-law, Gaylan Berry.

The family would like to express their gratitude towards Hospice of Midland and all of the “old guys” at Hogan that Nathan played golf with.

In lieu of flowers memorials can be donated to The Permian Basin Area Foundation In Honor of Tyler Berry.
