COLEMAN — Memorial services for Jimmy Don Simpson, age 75, of Coleman, wil be held at a later date at the Elm Street Church of Christ. His body was cremated under the direction of Allcorn Funeral and Cremation Care of Coleman

He died Saturday, Oct. 15, 2016 at the Coleman County Medical Center.

He was born Aug. 30, 1941 in Algerita to Frank Austin and Mary Opal Deeds Simpson. In 1967, he married Noda Moore in Brady. He was a member of the Church of Christ. He served in the U.S. Army, the National Guard, and the Army Reserves. He worked as the administrator for Sheffield Nursing Home. He worked as the administrator for Leisure Lodge in Coleman. He worked as the administrator for Holiday Hill Nursing Home.

Survivors include his wife Noda of Coleman; two daughters, Dottie Howard of Coleman and Carla Huie and husband David of Lohn; two sons, Billy Simpson and wife Penny of Conroe and Noel Austin Simpson and wife Amy of Lohn; two sisters, Frankie Shelton of Benbrook and Linda Philen and husband Bill of Brownwood; 12 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Billy Joe Simpson.
