John Baldwin went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, Oct. 23, 2016. He was a member of the Grace Lutheran Church. He loved God, America, and his family and friends. He retired from the U.S. Air Force as a Master Sergeant, and was a veteran of WWII, Korea, and Viet Nam. He also flew the Berlin Airlift, and had the privilege of seeing that wretched symbol of Communism come down during his lifetime. He loved fishing, jazz music, and playing 42.

He is survived by his wife, Leona; and his two daughters, Janice Baldwin from Dallas, and Janet Harlow, who with her husband Archie, live in Brady. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Dorothy Byar, in Memphis; his stepson, Grant Schumann and his wife, Nathalie, who live in California; and numerous nieces and nephews in Arkansas, California, and Tennessee.

He died a hero and friend to many.
