COLEMAN — Felton Martin, 93, of Trickham, passed from this life on Nov. 2, 2016 at Coleman County Medical Center in Coleman.
Services will be at 11 a.m. today at Trickham Baptist Church with the Rev. John Stanislaw officiating. Interment will follow at the Trickham Cemetery with services under the direction of Henderson Funeral Home of Coleman. The family received friends Friday night at Henderson Funeral Home in Coleman.
He was born James Felton Martin on July 22, 1923 in Trickham, to James Howell and Gertrude May Toby Martin. Felton was raised in Trickham attending the Trickham schools and graduated from Santa Anna High School. He continued his education at Howard Payne University where he received his Bachelor of Science Degree.
On Aug. 29, 1947, Felton married Bettie Ruth Cox in Brownwood and they celebrated 55 years of marriage. Betty preceded him in death in 2002.
He was a lifetime resident of Trickham, a member of the Trickham Baptist Church, former Director of the Trickham Cemetery Association and a member of the Masonic Mountain Lodge #661, receiving his 50 year pin and the Golden Trowel. Felton was a retired dairy farmer.
Survivors include two daughters, Ann Nelson of Houston and Janice Snow and husband Delbert of Brownwood; two sons, Bill Martin of Weatherford and Paul Martin and wife Gay of Santa Anna; sister, LaVerne McClatchy of Trickham; eight grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
