Our loved one, Shirley Ann Turner, 77, of Brookesmith, started her eternal life with Christ Jesus in Heaven on Thursday, Nov. 3, 2016.
Funeral Services for Shirley will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 7, 2016, at Blaylock Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain Craig Pender officiating. Burial will follow at Greenleaf Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday afternoon at Blaylock Funeral Home. Arrangements are under the direction of Blaylock Funeral Home.
Shirley was born in Perry, N.Y. on Oct. 17, 1939, to Bruce and Lenora Scott. Shirley married James Turner on Nov. 28, 1973. She lived in Abilene for over 20 years before moving to the Brownwood area; where she and her husband, James, and daughter, Nicole have lived for the last 23 years.
Shirley and James spent 19 years working in the prison ministry at the T.R. Havins Unit in Brownwood, teaching classes and helping with Sunday Morning Chapel with Chaplain Craig Pender and wife Genivea.
Shirley leaves behind her husband of 43 years, James Turner; children, Melody Brooks and husband Stan, Charlene Martelle and husband Don, Vicki Riley and husband Randy, Terry Clark and wife Laura, Tammy Clark and Nicole Turner Whitley; 18 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
