BRECKENRIDGE — The Brownwood Lady Lions chalked up their fifth victory in six outings Tuesday night, scoring two runs apiece in the first two innings en route to a 9-2 triumph over the Breckenridge Lady Bucks.

The Lady Lions (5-1) led 2-0 after one frame, 4-0 after two, 5-0 through three and tacked on four more runs in the top of the seventh before Breckenridge (2-2) scored twice in its final at-bat.

Brownwood amassed 14 hits — including five for extra-bases — led by three from Ashlynn Patteson and two apiece from Danyelle Gongora, Alexis Larrea and Chyanne Ellett. Larrea tripled, doubled and drove in two runs while Ellett, Gongora and Patteson all doubled and knocked in two. Emily Perez recorded a double, Annie Gillispie, Kayla McFarden and Victoria Sanchez chipped in a single and an RBI apiece, while Ayanna Clemons also singled and crossed the plate once.

In the circle, Ellett tossed a complete game, striking out 16 and walking five while surrendering only three hits.

The Lady Lions will next compete in Abilene tournament action Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
