SAN SABA — Catarina 'Cata' Jimenez, 77, of Stephenville, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, May 20, 2017 in Stephenville.
Catarina was born on April 29, 1940 in Panna Maria, to Emenencio and Agapita (Delgado) Cabrera. She met and married Manuel Jimenez in May of 1975 and moved to Stephenville. They were blessed with the birth of their daughter Blanca Flor Jimenez in January of 1978. Blanca later blessed them even more with the birth of a grandson and light of her life, Manuel “Manuelito” Adrian Montgomery on April 25, 1999.
Catarina was a favorite of and loved by her many nieces and nephews. Many of them stayed summers with her and Manuel, and she was like a second mother to them, especially Lillie Salas Wilson, Susie Salas-Lira, Ida Salas Van Bebber, and Elena Cabrera Casarez. Elena's children Danielle Kinsey and Marcus Cabrera thought of Cata as more like a grandmother to them. Her daughter's Godchildren, Kevin and Devin Flores, Julian Hernandez, and Jonathon Resendiz loved her and called her grandma.
Those left behind to cherish her memory are one daughter, Blanca Jimenez of Stephenville; one grandson, Manuel Adrian Montgomery of Stephenville; six sisters Mona Guerra of Lubbock, Lilli and her husband Roberto Salas of Brownfield, Santos and her husband Rafael Martinez of Brownfield, Carolina and her husband Pancho Reyna of San Angelo, Fanny Diaz of San Saba, and Consuelo Longoria of Holland, Michigan; best friend, Amelia Saucillo of Stephenville; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Lucia Morin and Juanita Morales; and four brothers Leandro, Mariano, Emenencio, and Dario Cabrera.
Arrangements are under the direction of Blaylock Funeral Home of San Saba.
