Gabriel Saucedo Sr., 68, of Brownwood passed away Tuesday, Oct. 31, 2017 at his residence.

A funeral service for Gabriel will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 3 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Father Francis Njoku officiating. Burial will follow at Greenleaf Cemetery. Visitation will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday with Rosary starting at 7 p.m. at Blaylock Funeral Home. Arrangements are under the direction of Blaylock Funeral Home of Brownwood.

Gabriel was born to Miguel and Conception (Celestino) Saucedo on Nov. 16, 1948, in Villa Union, Coahuila. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Gabriel loved singing and writing songs; he also did a lot of emceeing.

Gabriel is survived by his daughters, Dora Trevino and husband Gilbert of Brownwood, Ada Saucedo and Michael Kuhn of Brownwood, Angela Marrufo and Uriel Arcos of Brownwood, Gabi Enriquez and husband Gabriel of Lake Villa, Illinois, Christina Saucedo and John Gloria of Brownwood, and Jessica Saucedo of Lake Villa, Illinois; son, Gabriel Saucedo Jr. and Hayden Bowers of Brownwood; 18 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sisters, Ophelia Cantu, Esther Saucedo, Victoria Ibarra, Martha Ibarra, Dora Saucedo, and Isela Garcia; brothers, Miguel Saucedo, Hector Saucedo, and Jose Saucedo. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and a host of friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Miguel and Conception Saucedo.
