GOLDTHWAITE — Funeral services for Melvin Pierce, 90, of Goldthwaite, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 27 at Stacy-Wilkins Funeral Home in Goldthwaite. Burial will follow at the San Saba Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 26 at the funeral home.
He died Monday, Jan. 22, 2018 in Goldthwaite.
He was born Feb. 19, 1927 in Lometa to Charlie B. Pierce and Ada Sutton Pierce. He served in the U.S. Army.
Survivors include his children, Patricia Ilene Pierce of Gonzalez, Melva Jean Pierce of Gonzalez, Nelda Ruth Larsen of Iowa, Traci LeAnne Dalton of Fort Worth, Ginger Deanne Green of Goldthwaite, Theresa Suzanne Burrell of Goldthwaite and Debra Joanne Williams of Goldthwaite; 17 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; several great-great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and siblings, Charles Ray Pierce, Joe D. Pierce, Hazel Pafford and Evelyn Grooms.
He was preceded in death by a son, Larry Burl Pierce; a brother, Vernon Pierce; a sister, Betty Dickenson; and two grandchildren.
