Funeral services for Olga Garcia Cantu, 68, of Brownwood, will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, April 7 at St Mary’s Catholic Church with the Rev. Francis Njoku officiating. Interment will follow in Eastlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Davis-Morris Funeral Home. Visitation for the family will be held from 5 p.m. to p.m. with rosary recitation at 7 p.m. on Friday, April 6 at Davis-Morris Funeral Home.
Olga passed away peacefully at Scott and White Memorial Hospital in Temple, surrounded by her family after an extended illness.
Olga was born Feb. 14, 1950 in Jimenez, Coahuila, Mexico to Santiago and Antonia Garcia. She was married to Fidencio Cantu. She was a long-time resident of Brown County.
She is survived by her husband and two daughters: Christy Arriaga of Brownwood and Kathleen Bejarano and husband Jose of San Angelo. She is also survived by three grandchildren: Andrew Arriaga of Brownwood, Matthew and Nathan Bejarano of San Angelo. Olga is also survived by two brothers: Raul Garcia and Robert Garcia and wife Laura of Brownwood; four sisters: Mary Olivia Balderrama of Pflugerville, Hortencia Martinez and husband Raul of Brownwood, Norma Romero and husband Robert of Arlington, Mona Boren and husband Eric of Round Rock. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Santiago Garcia of Brownwood; and a niece, Andrea Romero of Arlington.
