Graveside services for Claude Dudley Golden, 88, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 25 with Bro. Bill Campbell officiating. A memorial service will follow at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 25 at the Zephyr Baptist Church Reception Room. A family gathering and meal will follow at 11:30 a.m.
Claude Dudley Golden was born to V.B. and Zuella Golden on Dec. 2, 1929. He was a Paratrooper in the U.S. Army where, due to injury, he received an honorable discharge. In his later years, Claude married Rose and they owned and operated a mechanic shop in Phoenix, Arizona. Claude was a mechanic for most of his life.
Claude was preceded in death by his parents, V.B. and Zuella Golden of Zephyr; his sister, Dorothy Painter of Zephyr; and two brothers-in-law, Ronnie Cornelius and Harvey Painter, both of Zephyr.
Claude is survived by his wife, Rose Golden of Phoenix, Arizona; sister, Joy Cornelius of Zephyr; two sons, Frank Gold and wife of Phoenix, Arizona, and John Golden and wife of Michigan; one daughter, Claudia Hall of Michigan; one stepson, Dean of Phoenix, Arizona; two grandsons; two granddaughters; one step-grandson; two step-granddaughters; and numerous nieces and nephews from the Brownwood and Zephyr area.
